On the afternoon of May 14, 2025, the 7th China-Thailand Seminar on Vocational Education Talent Cultivation was successfully convened in Room 314 of the Lide Building at Wuhan Railway Vocational College of Technology. The seminar aimed to explore new methods and approaches for talent cultivation in China-Thailand vocational education under the new circumstances and promote high-quality development in this field.

A delegation of Thai directors from vocational colleges attended the event, including Junyar Pabu, Advisor to Banphai Industrial and Community Education College (BPIC); Sunya Jansod, Deputy Director of BPIC; Somsak Chaisoda, Director of HatYai Technical College; Krisda Soonthorn, Dire ctor of Lampang Technical College, along with Deputy Directors Sanya Srisamutr and Chanawat Aussawamontien; Somsak Marttale, Deputy Director of Nakhon Ratchasima Technical College; and Chaiya Thabvithorn, Deputy Director of Khon Kaen Technical College. WRC President Bai Youlin and heads of relevant administrative divisions and schools attended the seminar. The meeting was chaired by Fu Xiang, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office. Additionally, enterprise representatives such as Xu Kang, Deputy General Manager of the Overseas Market Department of China Railway 11th Bureau Group Corporation; Liu Bin, Regional General Manager of Guangzhou Nanfang High-Speed Railway Surveying Technology Co., Ltd.; Wang Zhengwei, Deputy General Manager of Zhengzhou Jiean High-Tech Co., Ltd.; and Wang Jianlin, Deputy General Manager of the International Department of FiberHome Technologies Group Co., Ltd., as well as representatives from institutions including Wuhan College of Foreign Languages and Foreign Affairs, Wuhan Technical College of Communications, Changjiang Institute of Technology, and Hubei Urban Construction Vocational and Technological College, also showed up.

At the onset of the seminar, WRC President Bai Youlin extended a warm welcome to all participants. He reviewed the fruitful achievements in talent cultivation projects between Wuhan Railway Vocational College of Technology and its Thai partner colleges and detailed future cooperation plans with Thai colleges, including establishing a cooperative work-study mechanism, providing employment prospects for jointly cultivated students, enhancing faculty training for Thailand, and seeking support from Thai operating enterprises. He emphasized that through this seminar, he hoped to discuss with Thai partner institutions new methods and approaches for localized talent cultivation under the new circumstances where the second phase of the China-Thailand high-speed railway project has been approved by the Thai government, and to jointly promote high-quality development in China-Thailand vocational education.

Junyar Pabu, Advisor to Banphai Industrial and Community Education College, stated in his speech that cooperation between Chinese and Thai vocational colleges has entered a new phase, and both sides will continue to deepen cooperation and explore more possibilities for localized skilled talent cultivation. Somsak Chaisoda, Director of HatYai Technical College, expressed his willingness to send more students to study at our college in the future. Krisda Soonthorn, Director of Lampang Technical College, expressed gratitude for the cooperation with our college, noting that as the only institution in northern Thailand with railway majors, they look forward to sending students to learn railway technology and Chinese culture at our college.

Representatives from the enterprises actively spoke at the meeting, introducing their company's advantageous projects and expressing a strong desire to serve the cultivation of skilled talents in China and Thailand.

Subsequently, Chinese and Thai colleges, along with partner enterprises, engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics such as talent cultivation in China-Thailand vocational education and serving international industrial capacity under the new circumstances. They actively supplied suggestions and proposals, raised cooperation needs, and conducted a question-and-answer discussion on the demands of Chinese overseas enterprises in Thailand regarding internships and employment for vocational college students, proposing many constructive and conducive cooperation suggestions.
During the seminar, Wuhan Railway Vocational College of Technology and HatYai Technical College officially signed a cooperation agreement on the joint cultivation of railway talents, laying a solid foundation for their ongoing cooperation. President Bai Youlin also presented a certificate of appointment as an adjunct professor to Junyar Pabu, in recognition of his wisdom and achievements in contributing to the China-Thailand project over the past decade. In his acceptance speech, Junyar Pabu emotionally reviewed the ten-year journey of the China-Thailand project cooperation and expressed his continuing commitment as an advisor, wishing for further advancements through the joint efforts of Chinese and Thai colleges.
The successful organization of this seminar has established a new cooperation platform for talent cultivation in China-Thailand vocational education, further deepening cooperation and exchanges in this field, and injecting new impetus into promoting high-quality development in China-Thailand vocational education.
It is reported that the Thai college director delegation was invited to attend the 2025 World Digital Education Conference in Wuhan. Prior to the conference, they visited WRC and attended this seminar.
