On May 28, the 2024 Annual Conference of China-Thailand Vocational Education Alliance and China-Thailand Vocational Education Cooperation Forum themed "Vocational Education Going Abroad" were held in Eastern Technological College of Chonburi Province, Thailand. The Vocational Education Committee of the Ministry of Education of Thailand and the relevant leaders of the Education Bureau of Chonburi Province, representatives of more than 20 Sino-Thai vocational colleges and representatives of BYD Co., LTD., Huawei Technologies Co., LTD., Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. attended the conference. Invited by Eastern Technological College, the Thai chairman unit of the Alliance, WRC attended the conference and delivered a speech at the China-Thailand Vocational Education Cooperation Roundtable Forum.
Suphamit Sirakanthamakul, Director of the Education Bureau of Chonburi, Thailand, extended a welcome speech at the conference.Somruedee Chimmusik, Director of the Vocational Education Bureau of the Vocational Education Committee of the Ministry of Education of Thailand, gave a speech and announced the opening of the conference. Yi Jun, Chinese Chairman of the Alliance and Party Secretary of Chongqing Vocational Institute of Engineering, made a summary of work of the Alliance in 2023 and a report on 2024 work plan. Peng Kaiqin, Vice President of WRC, announced the new members of the Alliance. Subsequently, the signing ceremony of relevant cooperation projects, the unveiling ceremony of characteristic cooperation projects and the vocational education exhibition with Chinese features were on the go.
At the China-Thailand Vocational Education Cooperation Roundtable Forum on "Vocational Education Going Abroad", Peng Kaiqin, Vice President of WRC, presented the cooperation between our college and Thai colleges in the co-education of railway technical talents under the title of "Deepening China-Thailand Cooperation and Jointly Cultivating High-speed Railway Talents", sharing the stories of WRC outstanding Thai students studying in Wuhan and learning high-speed railway technology. The contributions and achievements made by WRC to train high-speed railway professionals in countries jointly building the "Belt and Road" were showcased in his speech. Peng pointed out that China and Thailand are close neighbors connected by mountains and rivers, hoping that Chinese and Thai colleges and enterprises can work together to make greater contributions to the development of vocational education in the two countries.
In the free discussion session, our school had in-depth exchanges with Thailand's CHONBURI Technological College, PAKNAM College of Business and Technology and RAJAPRUK University.
It is reported that the China-Thailand Vocational Education Alliance was established in April 2018, and the member units of the Alliance have developed from the initial 37 to the present 135, and our school is the vice chairman unit of the Alliance. The purpose of the Alliance is to promote the development of vocational education in China and Thailand and strengthen the in-depth exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Thai colleges and enterprises. This annual conference aims to jointly exchange new experience of China-Thailand vocational education cooperation and jointly explore the new future of the development of the Alliance.
