2023 Seminar on China-Thai Vocational Education Talent Cultivation Convened in WRC

On March 30th, 2023 Seminar on China-Thai Vocational Education Talent Cultivation was convened in our college. Huang Nianping, Director of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation Office of Department of Education of Hubei Province, Wu Siqiang, Director of China Railway Wuhan High Speed Railway Vocational Skills Training Base attended the seminar. Thai attendees included the visiting Thai vocational education delegation to our school, who are Mr. Junyar Pabu, Advisor of Banphai Industrial and Community Education College (BPIC), Dr.Bunjong Polkhun, BPIC Director, and Dr. Tanapat Saengchan, Director of Nakhon Rachasima Technical College (NTC), as well as other members of the delegation. The seminar was also joined by President Cheng Shixing, Vice President Peng Kaiqin and representatives from Wuhan Polytechnic, Wuhan Institute of Shipbuilding Technology, Hubei Engineering Institute, Ezhou Polytechnic, China Railway Wuhan High Speed Railway Vocational Skills Training Base, South High Speed Railway Measurement Technology Co. LTD, Zhengzhou JIEAN HI-TECH Co., Ltd. and China Railway 11th Bureau Group Electric Engineering Co., Ltd.. Vice President Peng Kaiqin presided over the seminar.

President Cheng Shixing reviewed in his welcome remarks, the history and achievements of WRC, as well as the advances of China-Thailand joint program to cultivate technical talents of high-speed rail.

In his speech, Huang Nianping, Director of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation Office of Department of Education of Hubei Province, introduced the general situation of education in Hubei Province, fully affirmed the fruition of WRC in international exchange and cooperation, and pointed out that Luban High-speed Railway Institute, jointly built by WRC and BPIC, is a paradigm of vocational education cooperation between Hubei Province and Thailand. He hoped that the participating colleges would take this seminar as an opportunity to further deepen exchanges and cooperation between China and Thailand and contribute to jointly advancing the Belt and Road Initiative.

Dr. Bunjong Polkhun, Director of BPIC, said in his speech that the pandemic did not stop the pace of cooperation between the two colleges. Both sides kept conducting online teaching and teacher training. He hoped to further enhance friendship and deepen cooperation results during this visit to WRC.

Dr. Tanapat Saengchan, Director of NTC, said in his speech that NTC attaches great importance to the cooperation with our college and hopes that the agreed cooperation content can be implemented as soon as possible to facilitate Thai students to study in our college.

Wu Siqiang, Director of China Railway Wuhan High Speed Railway Vocational Skills Training Base, introduced the close cooperation between his Training Base and our college in deepening the integration of production and education, hoping to profoundly participate in the training practice of international students, and provide strong support for the training of railway talents in countries along the "Belt and Road".

During the discussion session, Mr. Junyar Pabu, Advisor of BPIC, took the lead. He hoped that a new round of China-Thailand cooperation program to train railway talents kicks off soon. Dr. Tanapat Saengchan of NTC and Dr. Bunjong Polkhun of BPIC raised relevant questions, which were answered by WRC leaders and heads of relevant schools and offices.

Wang Liping, International Business Development Department Manager of Zhengzhou JIEAN HI-TECH Co., Ltd. , shared during the discussion,the experience of enterprise participation in talent cultivation. Wang Ting, Assistant to General Manager of China Railway 11th First Bureau Group Electrical Engineering Co., Ltd., shared pertinent information about partaking in the construction of China-Thailand Railway, which could provide post practice and employment opportunities for high-speed rail students co-cultivated by China and Thailand. Zhou Qi, Director of Hubei Engineering Institute, expressed his desire for international exchanges and cooperation in e-commerce and other programs.


President Cheng Shixing emphasized in his concluding speech, that in WRC the Thai vocational education delegation visited Healthy Growth Center for College Students, Training Base of Intelligent Manufacturing, Training Base of World Skills Competition in China, Training Base of National High-level EMU Maintenance and Training Base of Railway Engineering, and were also invited to visit China Railway Wuhan High Speed Railway Vocational Skills Training Base, our college's cooperative enterprise, which deepened the understanding of WRC and China high-speed railway. He reiterated that through this seminar, we further defined the future direction of China-Thailand joint personnel training program, explored a variety of joint cultivating modes, and carried out non-railway program cooperation. Simultaneously, He hoped Thai students could have a good command of Chinese, lay a solid foundation and make full preparation for studying in China.
