China at High Speed, documentary participated by WRC Thai international students, released on Discovery Channel

Recently, China at high speed, a three-episode documentary co- produced by China Intercontinental Communication Center (CICC) and Songshan Production Company of Singapore, supported and directed by the External Promotion Bureau of Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee was broadcast at the Spring Festival event of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary. It tells the story of China's development in the new era and was selected into the learning platform of Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee. 


WRC 2017 Thai students and related faculty had a part in the shooting. China at High Speed is a three-episode documentary with the theme of China's high-speed rail: Human connections, Rail science and Into the future. It aired worldwide on the Discovery Channel for three consecutive days on October 6, 7 and 8, 2020.

On November 7, 2017, China at High Speed crew arrived in Wuhan, focusing on China-Thailand joint training of talents in the field of high- speed rail project of WRC. 40 Thai students were invited to partake in the shooting at Wuhan High-speed Railway Vocational Skills Training Base, for the purpose of showcasing how China helped nurture technical professionals for countries along the Belt and Road. The crew went to the hometown and college of Mr. Kantithat Danaut, one of WRC’s Thai students, for follow-up shooting from May 21 to 22, 2018. They made in-depth interviews on why Bai Hao chose to learn high-speed rail technology in China and the changes after returning to Thailand. 


China at High Speed presents the changes brought by high-speed rail through exquisite audio-visual language and vivid stories, and displays unremitting exploration and extraordinary achievements of China's high-speed rail in the aspects of safety, comfort, science and technology. It shows how China's high-speed rail is providing a new driving force for world development through such stories as China helps build Malaysian meter gauge and cultivate Thailand train technical talents at the background of globalization.
