A Delegation from TIC and OCC Visits WRC
A delegation of 4 people led by Dr. Ronald Opp, executive director of the Internationalization Consortium, the University of Toledo and Ms. Mary Cathey Maze, vice chancellor of academic affairs from Oakland Community College visited WRC on May 14. President Mr. Cheng Shixing, vice president Mr. Zhou Shen, Ms. Yuhong, Dean of Medical and Nursing School, Mr. Cheng Chong, Dean of School of Machinery and Electronics, Ms. Wang Yan, Director of Practical Training Center and Ms. Liu Li, Director of Foreign Affairs Division attended the reception. Mr. Zhou Shen hosted the conference.
President Mr Cheng Shixing extended a warm welcome to the American guests and introduced basic situation, college-enterprise cooperation, community service and international cooperation programs about WRC. President Mr. Cheng Shixing hoped that the cooperation on vocational education could be promoted between the two sides through this conference. Dr. Ronald Opp, executive director of TIC said in his speech that he hoped to strengthen the links between Chinese higher vocational colleges and American community colleges and push forward students and faculty exchange programs through TIC. Ms. Mary Cathey Maze, vice chancellor of academic affairs from Oakland Community College extended thanks to the warm reception and introduced the basic conditions, programs of OCC and pathways to four-year universities. She hoped that both sides could develop joint programs in Nursing and Machinery.
The Chinese attendees also included Ms. Dan Qiong from Medical and Nursing School and Ms. Zhang Hui from School of Machinery and Electronics. They introduced the related programs to the American delegation.
The both sides reached a preliminary consensus and signed MOU. After the conference, the American delegation toured the training rooms of Nursing, Machinery and Electronics and EMU Stimulated Driving.
