On the morning of November 6, 2021 English Language and American Culture Virtual Camp kicked off in the conference room of International School. Cheng Shixing, president of WRC, Bai Youlin, deputy Party secretary, Xia Dong, director of Teaching Academic Affairs Office, Liu Fang, director of Common Courses Department, Tao Lin, director of Foreign Affairs Division, Zhu Jinfeng, vice director of Common Courses Department, Sheng Wei, vice director of Foreign Affairs Division, relevant teachers and 10 students of the camp were present at the launching ceremony. The ceremony was also attended by Lee Lambert, chancellor of Pima Community College, Bruce Moses, vice chancellor, Xu Yan, deputy director of Center for International Education and Global Engagement. The ceremony was chaired by Xu Yan, and interpreted by Sheng Wei.


President Cheng Shixing first reviewed the cooperation and achievements of the two colleges and hoped that the students participating in the camp would work hard, make full progress, impart and inherit Chinese culture and the friendship between the two countries. He also wished the camp a complete success.
Chancellor Lee Lambert, warmly welcomed the students, recalled his first visit to China and expressed his appreciation of Chinese culture. In his speech, he hoped to further deepen the bilateral cooperation, jointly carry out programs including credit transfer and dual degree, promote common development of both Chinese and American students and cultivate future young leaders.

Subsequently, a representative of the teachers,Valentino Lugo, lead instructor of Pima Community College expressed his excitement as an instructor of the camp and wished to exchange Chinese and American culture and make common progress with Chinese students.
At last, as a representative of the students, Yan Yiting, a student majoring in urban rail transportation operation and management of WRC, said that they would cherish the opportunity and improve their cross-cultural ability.
Valentino Lugo, lead instructor of Pima Community College, instructed the first class of the camp after the ceremony. Relaxing teaching atmosphere was created throughout the class and teacher-student interaction.

The camp will last 7 week and has been organized by WRC, Pima Community College and Wuhan Institute of Shipbuilding Technology. The camp is intended to broaden students' international horizon, enhance their cross-cultural ability and overall qualities.
